All About Andre
Who could have anticipated that the leisurely days brought about by the challenges of Covid would ultimately become a profound blessing in disguise? During the temporary closure of my job, I decided to delve into the world of paint-by-numbers to alleviate the monotony. To my surprise, I discovered a serene joy in it. Due to a muscular disorder I've had since birth, mastering hand-eye coordination has always posed a significant challenge. I'll never forget the moment when my mother walked by one of my works, gasping at the unique technique evolving on the canvas. It dawned on me that my inability to adhere strictly to the lines was infusing a contemporary flair into this age-old art form.
This unexpected journey into art became a transformative experience. We began capturing images of beautiful objects, and the rest, as they say, is history. What started as a simple pastime quickly evolved into a passionate endeavor. I sincerely hope you find as much delight in my pieces as we do. In the words of my mother, "They are perfectly imperfect!"
I attended University High School from kindergarten through senior year, graduating in 2010. I then went on to attend Judson College, an all-girls college in Marion, Alabama, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2014. My academic journey didn't stop there; in December 2023, I received a Master's in Psychology from the University of Louisiana Monroe's online program while working full-time.
Beyond my academic achievements, I enjoy traveling with my family on trips to Europe, South Africa, China, and Bali. I loved my trip to South Africa so much that I went to Ethiopia on a mission trip in college to help make eyeglasses for the less fortunate. These travels have fueled my love for learning about different cultures and have greatly influenced my artistic vision.
Today, I continue to explore the world and my art, finding inspiration in the diversity and beauty of different cultures. My journey from the structured confines of paint-by-numbers to creating my own unique pieces reflects my resilience and creativity. Each piece I create is a testament to my ability to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and expression.
